Wild Weekend

This last weekend, Adam, the girls and I, got to go to Utah to see family. It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but we had a lot of fun. We were able to see all my nieces and nephews from my side of the family, and we got to meet our newest member of our family, Sadie, born March 26th to Adam's sister Danielle and her hubby Todd. I wish I would of got my camera to take a picture of Sadie ~ she has so much hair! I LOVE it when babies have tons of hair. Congrats Todd and Danielle!!

I also got to see, and finally hold, my little miracle of a nephew, Crew, in person, for the first time since I saw him at the NICU (only weighing in somewhere around a pound and a half!!) last November. He is such a cute kid. I have to tell you though, it throws you for a loop to hold an almost 5 month old baby, who is only around 7 lbs! I kept feeling like I needed to support his head and such because he's the size of a newborn, but no way, this kid has abs of steel and can hold his head up really well already. I stole these pictures off of Megan's blog - because I didn't take any pictures of my own.

On Saturday, Adam also took the girls to Toys R Us, while I got some quality shopping done in Babies R Us. Adalyn got new swimming goggles there and she immediately had to put them on. Still today she won't take them off. She looks so fuuunnny in them. I love it!




And of course I had to take a picture of Mieley too. She was feeling left out since she didn't get goggles (don't worry, she got some different pool toys), and had to put on her sunglasses. Too cute!

And the verdict is. . .

I had my meeting today to see if Mieley qualified for speech therapy ~ she does. So starting this week, she will go for a 1/2 hour every Friday. She'll be in speech therapy for a year - until March of 2010, then another meeting will be held to see if Mieley has caught up to her age and met her goals, or if she still needs help. However, since this is with the school district, Mieley will only go until May 29th, take the summer off, and then start back up at the end of August. Atleast she gets a couple months in before the start of summer though. Overall, I'm glad she was accepted. The speech pathologist seemed very confident that Mieley will do fairly well. I guess only time will tell! Mieley is way excited to go to "school." Adalyn's bummed that her little sister is going to school before her. Jealousy, jealousy. :)

Adam's Adventures

Here's a few pictures of Adam's cruise. You'll have to ask Adam though if you want any good stories/details.

Adam went on a ship that was the next size up from the one we went on together. On this one they have this kid H2O zone. Does that look like a kids dream pool or what? Adalyn wants to go on a cruise now just so she can play here.

This ship also had the FlowRider. You can surf or boogie board on the ship. Adam said he got okay at it. I think I would fall flat on my face everytime. Here's Kaden getting off of it.

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO:

These are two sister ships - same size boats. I believe Adam said theirs was the one on the right, or did he say left? Uh, I don't know. It looks like Adam's doing a "red bull" commercial to me.

This is a fort that was used to defend San Juan. Spain built it to help defend the island from any invaders. Quite the impressive fort. I found the cemetery quite interesting too. If you want to know anymore history that this, you'll have to ask Adam.

CHARLOTTE AMALIE, ST. THOMAS

Second stop was St. Thomas. On our last cruise, Adam wanted to get his scuba certification. I didn't. So Adam got his certification on this cruise, on the ship. It worked out great. He got to do something he's always wanted too, and didn't have to feel bad about leaving me out. There's not much pictures of the last two islands he stopped on from now on because Adam scuba dived all day at each of them. He LOVED SCUBA! Too bad we live no where close to an ocean for Adam to go scuba diving in. I guess we'll just have to go on another cruise someday!!!

PHILIPSBURG, ST. MAARTEN

Last stop: St. Marrten. This place is know for it's jewelry shopping. Adam said he looked at a ruby/diamond jewelry set for me. Seeing that it would of cost him $5000.00, I'm glad he didn't buy it (or am I?). That's more than the cost of this trip all together! I wish he would of took a picture though just so I could of seen what it looked like.

All Adam's family said they like St. Maarten. It was the "cleanest."

This is one of my very favorite pictures that Adam took. I love the sun breaking through the clouds. I want to blow it up and frame it.

So that's his cruise in a nutshell. Fun, fun, fun.

Flowers, Speech and Mud

I don't have any pictures from Adam's cruise yet, but I hope to soon. He's been busy, busy with work and all since he's been back, so I haven't talked to him much, but he said he had a GREAT time. I wanted to show these flowers he got me before he left on the cruise though. They were so pretty and bright and cheery! And the amazing part is that they are still looking pretty good, though it's been a week and a half.

As for a little knew news - Mieley met with a speech pathologist on Monday. For those who don't know, Mieley is able to pronounce one syllable words fairly well. However, when I ask her to say a two or three syllable word, she'll sometimes leave off the first (or second) syllable and only pronounce the last syllable. She also struggles with putting more than two words together in a sentence. She's pretty good at her facial expressions and coming up with her own sign language to communicate what she wants instead. I don't have ANY concerns that she doesn't understand words, just that she won't/can't put words together to talk back to me.

So back to the speech pathologist - We met on Monday and she did about a 45 minute "test" with Mieley. She had Mieley say words to her, and talk in a microphone, and then had me make conversation with Mieley so she could see how she communicates. I was afraid Mieley would be shy and not talk, but instead she opened right up and did everything she was supposed too. I don't find out until next Monday if Mieley will qualify or not (the state has to approve it), but the speech pathologist thought that she should. Then Mieley will start going to a class once a week and hopefully we can jump this hurdle before she heads to school.

The weather's been a little bit nicer here too. I'm getting so excited for spring. Especially for the warmer weather, and of course our baby comes then too. Most of the snow has melted, but now there is puddles of water and MUD everywhere. Mieley and Adalyn just had to get out of the house yesterday - and this is how Mieley came back.

Though she was a mess, I found her so adorable. I love the mud specs all over her face. She kinda reminded me of this:

Maybe I should change her name to Pippy Longstocking.

Morning (Mourning) Prayer

Adalyn saying the prayer over breakfast this morning, referring to Adam on the ship:

"And bless Dad that he will still love us. And bless Dad that he won't fall off. . ."

I thought it was cute. The girls are dying to see their dad and we still have 6 full days before we see him!

In Mourning Part 2

Well since nearly all of you have asked - here's the story:

Adam's parents decided to go on a cruise, I believe in January of this year and booked one. Adam wanted to go and asked if he could (jokingly) go. I of course said, "NO WAY!" Anyways, I VERY gradually changed from "NO WAY" to "Okay, MAYBE you can go," to "I think you deserve it, you can go if you want to." Honestly, I didn't really think he would go.

It's never really been an option for me to go. Seeing that I'm almost 31 weeks - though the sunshine and being on a cruise sounds REALLY nice, I don't really want to waddle around in all my pregnancy glory in a bathing suit. Plus, I'm not so sure my doctor would give me a note to get on an airline this late in pregnancy and I know airlines don't like pregnant women in their last trimester to fly too. And I got sort of sea sick the first couple days when I went in Dec. 07 - I didn't want to really take the chance that I would get really sick being pregnant and all and spend all my time throwing up. So. . .Adam's been battling this decision for a long time. He isn't a bad husband and just decided to up and leave me. I could tell he struggled with making the decision. In fact he said he wasn't going for the longest time. . . .I think what changed his mind was because Adam's grandma decided to go. Adam was the one that pressured her into going - and he wanted to spend this trip spending some time with her. If you know Adam, he has always been really close to all his family - I know he wasn't just telling me a story to soften me up.

Sooooo, Friday morning Adam called to see if he could still get tickets. Nope, they were sold out. So his name went on a waiting list. However, around 3 pm Friday he got a call that someone had cancelled and he could go. Not 24 hours later Adam was on a plane with his family and on his way. His family didn't even know he was going with him until they got to the airport themselves!

So, I am really jealous that he's gone, but I'm not mad he's gone. Of course I want to be there with him, but this baby comes first (whether I want that to be the case or not) :) Maybe someday I'll have an opportunity like this. In fact, maybe we should plan an "all-girl" cruise/trip. Any takers??? :)

In Mourning

My husband just left today to go on a CARIBBEAN CRUISE for a week. . .

Yes, this was VERY short notice. No, I WON'T divorce him for going without me. Yes, he DESERVES it.

But it doesn't stop me from being insanely JEALOUS right now.

It's the FINAL COUNTDOWN!

I can hear the "Rocky" themed music now. On Thursday, I will only have 10 more weeks (and hopefully a week or two less than that!) of being pregnant! And, I've finally added a ticker to the top. I never posted one before, because I didn't want to constantly think about how many more days I had to go, but now I'm getting so excited that I can hardly stand it. It's like waiting for Christmas all over again. So, anyone have any cute girl names they want to share? Adam and I are sure having troubles coming up with a name we BOTH like.
