Temper Tantrum

So isn't March supposed to go out like a "lamb?" Then WHY is it throwing a temper tantrum and snowing today? Tomorrow's supposed to be nicer, but tomorrow's April Fools, so I won't count on it!

Ho-Hum Weekend

Well I know I haven't put anything up for awhile, but in all reality, nothing that exciting has happened this last week. Adam left EARLY Thursday to ride motorcycles down in Moab, UT, so the girls and I have just been kickin' it. I did however manage to go through my side of the closet and get 3 BIG bags full of clothes to give to the D.I. That job has been long overdue! I also took the girls to Idaho Falls yesterday to do some shopping, which always is a *fun* experience. The girls were fairly well behaved, but they took full advantage that only one parent was chasing them everywhere instead of two. It was fine to let them loose in the toy store, but in the craft store, I kept seeing visions of shelfs of ceramic decor falling and shattering to the floor. In the end, we did manage to make it out of 3 craft stores without breaking anything. Thank goodness. Today's been way too COLD and WINDY to even want to go outside, so I've been trying to catch up on some paper scrapbooking. I still have lots to do, but it's nice to get it all out and not worry about having to clean it up until tomorrow when Adam gets home.

So I still haven't pulled any Easter pictures off of my camera, but Adam's mom did send me these on email and I thought they were worth sharing. It's entitled "Why We'll Never Understand Each Other." You may have to click each image to be able to read them.

Hope you all are having a SUPERB weekend!

Happy *House Wide* Pink Day!

So a late Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone! Hope no one got pinched too many times. We celebrated a little bit - mainly just by wearing green clothes and I surprised the girls with green pancakes.

Yummy. . .right?

Mieley's giving me the "I know you are up to something mom" look.

Adalyn looking *thrilled* to see that I went out of my way this morning to *try* and make her smile. :)

For the most part, my kids were happy, but I did have a good SOLID hour of this:

All of this happened before she actually ate the green pancakes. I think first she was mad that I had chosen "greenish" clothes to wear and then that I hadn't let her make the green pancakes with me. She got SO MAD! I just laughed and took pictures of her - which made her even more furious than I was documenting her temper tantrum. For some reason I just found that temper tantrum more entertaining than frustrating or annoying.

So when I went into the girls bedroom this morning to help get them ready, Adalyn declared it "Pink Day!" (Since yesterday was Green Day!) She said, "Mommy, today is pink day and we get to make pink pancakes!! And we need to wear pink shirts so we match our pink pancakes!" She was so excited about it all, I thought "why not"? Don't want a repeat of yesterday's tantrum so HAPPY PINK DAY everyone!

First of all they both had to wear pink:

Then we made pink pancakes:

Maybe tomorrow will be "Yellow Day!" Who knows. We do need a little sunshine around here!

The Princess and The Witch

Last night, Adalyn's Grandma Grover took her out on a date to go see Enchanted in the cheap theatre. Grandma said Adalyn LOVED the show! (and I've see it too - if you haven't seen it yet make sure to rent it this Tuesday - GOOD SHOW!) She said Adalyn, of course, LOVED the princess, but also, surprisingly, thought the witch was cool too. Here's what Adalyn told Grandma on the way home from the show.

Adalyn: "When I grow up I'm going to be a princess. . but sometimes I'm going to be a witch too!"

I had to laugh when I heard that. It's probably not too far from the truth. Ahh. . the teenage years should be fun!

DISTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR!

Yeah! Adam is so AWESOME! He's worked SO hard and now it's all paid off. Adam was given the title of DISTRIBUTOR OR THE YEAR! He won a paid vacation to Hawaii and $10,000 dollars!!! Time to pack our bags. . HAWAII here we come! We are so EXCITED!!!

Okay, I lied, but all of that would of been nice! LOL! Last week Adam got a visit from his Mckee (Little Debbie Snacks) District Manager to give Adam his prizes for winning DISTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR. We didn't know what he would be getting, but was hoping for aleast a cash prize or something along those lines. But NO! We got a super unique one-of-a kind METAL"Distributor of the Year" license plate, a SHINY sunbelt plaque, a LITTLE DEBBIE hat, and a snazzy BROWN coat! That's WAY BETTER than a trip to Hawaii or any money. . . . right????

In all honesty, I AM REALLY PROUD of Adam and all the hard work he does for our family. Though he didn't win big, fabulous prizes, we all still think it was really cool that he won this title and each took a turn modeling off the coat, hat, and license plate!

Sorry everyone, I wasn't going to post my picture, because I decided I looked too much an UPS man - not flattering at all - but Adam just saw this post and made me, so here's UPS Kayla!

More Adalyn Funnies

The truth is that Adalyn's talking so much now, that she usually says or does something that cracks me up almost every day. But I've been thinking of them lately and here's a few more of my favorite storys:

A -tale- yn ( Pronounced Ad`a`lyn) #1:

April 24, 2007: I opened the window blinds upstairs to help get light into the house. Adalyn saw me do this, ran to the window and said, "I want to turn the window on!"

A -tale- yn #2

November 27, 2007: I was helping my neighbor Kristie make some of her wedding CD's at my house. Adalyn was watching us, when Kristie asked Adalyn, "Did you know I'm going to get married?!?" Without missing a beat Adalyn says, "When I get older, I'm getting marry too. . .Primary."

A -tale- yn #3

February 24, 2008: Adalyn had to give the scripture in Primary for the first time, so Adam and I snuck into the back of Primary to watch her (and I was going to help her with her scripture when it came time.) Well Adalyn spotted us right off and as loud as could be she kept saying "MOM, GET OUT OF MY PRIMARY! MMMOOOOMMMM, GET OUT OF MY PRIMARY!" Adam high-tailed in outta there, and I just sat there as embarrassed as could be.

A -tale- yn #4
March 9, 2008: Adalyn's primary teachers brought Adalyn over some papers and a small package of skittles on Saturday night. Adalyn was already in bed so she didn't see any of it until Sunday morning. So yesterday morning, she came downstairs, saw her papers and treat and exclaimed, "Ooohh, these are so beautiful! I love them! A treat?!? Mom, can I eat my skidies now?" I just love how she called the Skittles "Skidies". Say skidies outloud - it's just a funny word! :)

I'm sure there will be many more A -tale- yn's to come!

Numero Dos Tag:
What I was doing. . .

20 Years Ago/Mar 5, 1988 - I was 5. I was probably being a wonderful daughter to my mom and listening to everything she said. Role model kid I tell ya.

10 Years Ago/Mar. 1998- I was a Sophomore at Snake River High School. I wasn't quite sixteen yet, but interested in boys and dating. There was a kid named Cam Hobbs that I kinda liked. (Remember him BECKI???)

5 Years Ago/Mar. 2003- I was a NEWLYWED for 2 months. Life was good! Finally no more dating and no more boys. Also I think I had just quit my "painting" job, and became a bookkeeper at Albertsons.

3 Years Ago/Mar. 2005- Adalyn had been born and was 5 months old. Only two more months and I would be pregnant again with MIELEY. Crazy I tell ya! Also we had been in our first real home that we built in Lyman, ID. I loved that house! Why oh why did we move???

1 Year Ago/Mar. 2007 - Mieley turned one year. Also we were in our Parkside Townhouse for a year. Still here in Parkside. . .

So Far This Year- Adam and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary by going on a cruise in December. SO MUCH FUN! Wish I was there again now. Adalyn's 3 and Mieley just turned 2.

Yesterday- Bathed kids, fed kids, changed kids, fed kids, played with kids, yelled at kids, washed walls, fed kids, watched "Biggest Loser", went to bed. EXCITING right?!?

Today- Worked out, fed kids, did book work, fed kids, doing blog tags. . .another exciting day. .

Later Tonight- Humm, I wonder what I'm going to say. . .. how about feed kids and get them in bed so I can watch American Idol.

Tomorrow- Lather, rinse, repeat.

This Year- Hopefully go on a couple small family outings, run the Dam 1/2 Marathon, and start building a house. Cross your fingers on all three of those!

I Tag- Ha, so you guys that I didn't tag before aren't going to get away with it this time! How about Becky Z, Melanie, Tanya and Jandy.

Now you've all got your healthy dose of Kayla facts. Lucky, lucky you! :)

Potty Mouth

Probably most of you won't appreciate this, but here's what Adalyn told me after I got mad at her for getting off the potty without wiping her bum first after going the famous #2.

Me: Adalyn get back on that potty! You DO NOT get off the potty without wiping first.

Adalyn: But I need help. I need your help!

Me: (Walking toward the bathroom) GET BACK ON THE POTTY. You're dripping everywhere!

Adalyn: (As she's hoping back onto the potty) Well you can't spank me because then you would get poop on your hands and on your sweater. It would get everywhere.

Can't agrue with that. She had a valid point.
