Adalyn's 4!

Four! Four? Four. Already. Where has the time gone? My little girl's four going on sixteen!

Last night we had her birthday party. We had pizza for the kids, and homemade soups for the adults. It was a fun night! I feel lucky to have family members that live close by and are able to share in these special days with us.

Here's the finished cake a couple hours before the party. Adalyn loved it! Whew! Way easier, and I mean WAY EASIER to do this than last year's princess castle cake. I practically jumped for joy when Addy said all she wanted for her cake this year was a butterfly.

Adalyn's "princess" hair. Adam gives me a hard time that I don't ever do our girl's hair cute, so I wanted to prove him wrong. I think it turned out very cute myself.

Presents!

Blowing out the candles. We found "princess wand" candles for Adalyn. Very cool.

Cheesy cake smile. Adam took my picture with the cake in all it's glory before it was demolished and devoured.

I think if Mieley could open her mouth wider she would shove the whole thing in.

I know that the two grandmas in this picture probably aren't going to be happy that I posted this, but I think it's a VERY special picture. Adalyn's with her Grandma Bradshaw and Great Grandma Parker.

A HUGE thank you to everyone that came last night, helped out with the food, and for all the wonderful gifts. I appreciate you all more than you all know!

Today is Adalyn's actual birthday. I decided to do the girls hair cute again - just to really give Adam something to talk about. :)

Here's how it looks from the back. Cute huh?

Mieley's super cute too! I must confess that I got these ideas off the internet, but they weren't too hard to do. A definite bonus for me.

Sharing some love.

Here's what Adalyn got for her birthday today. I originally wanted to take her to the movie theater to watch this for a girl's day out, but only a couple days ago did I realize that Tinkerbell went straight to DVD. So tonight, I think we may make popcorn and have a little family movie night instead.

WE LOVE YOU ADALYN! We can't wait to share many, many, MANY more birthdays with you! Try to stay my little girl for a little longer!

A Few Fun Fall Family Photos

Say that title 10 times fast. . . I know some of you are doing it. . .

So, without further ado:

Fall photos are the best. What's better than running through, jumping in, and throwing leaves?

Halloween Carnival

Last night we went to the Archer Halloween Carnival. It was a lot of fun! It's a carnival full of little games for little kids. It's always a hit with my girls (and the whole community for that matter). I love the fact that no matter what, if they play a game, then they win a prize. That helps so nobody feels bad.

Here's a preview of what my girls are for Halloween this year and some of the fun we had last night.

Can you guess what Adalyn is? If you know her, you know what she wants to be EVERY YEAR!

Mieley's my cute little lady bug. I've never seen a bug that I wanted to kiss and hold as much as her!

My beautiful girls!

One of the "games" last night was getting tattoos. It took some persuading for the girls to get these, but once they got them on they loved them and wanted to spend all of their tickets on getting more.

Here's Adalyn doing the pumpkin bean bag toss.

Here's Mieley after she finished shooting out the candle in the carved pumpkin. They loved this one, because they won Halloween flashlights. They played with those flashlights all last night while they were *supposed* to be in bed.

In one of the games, they had to toss rings over a pop to win the pop. This is Mieley's pop. It's CANDY CORN flavored soda. I had to try it, just to try it. . . .DISGUSTING! Mieley downed the whole thing though! Kids will drink anything!

Here's Adalyn enjoying her winnings from the cake walk. Does life get better than this?

Well this week of parties has only begun. Tomorrow we're dubbing Sunday dinner, "Thanksgiving dinner," at Adam's parents house since we'll all be gone to other places this year for Thanksgiving. Tuesday's Adalyn's b-day party, Wednesday is her real birthday - I'm sure we'll do something that day too, Thursday we have a neighborhood Halloween party, and Friday is of course Halloween! Exciting, exciting! Hope we survive next week!

Pumpkin Pickin'

I really love this time of year. Not the bitter cold that comes with it, but I really love fall, the changing leaves, the crisp in the morning air, all the yummy food, and lots of family gatherings. Adalyn's birthday is also just around the corner and she thinks her birthday is one long celebration. For as long as she's been around, we've gone to the Archer/Lyman Halloween carnival, then have her birthday party a couple days later, and then a couple days after that it's Halloween. I love to see all the cute kids with their cute costumes. (No scary, dark stuff for me) Then before we know it, it's Thanksgiving and then Christmas. The holiday season is so close and I love it.

We've already done some pumpkin picking and carving. It's always a fun night for us. We get our pumpkins from a family friend's house.

Adalyn wasn't going to let go of her pumpkin. She found that one she wanted and didn't let it go for a long time. I told the girls they could have whatever pumpkin they wanted - they just had to be able to lift it.

Mieley was more interested in the shovel.

The girls colored their pumpkins with crayons. Here's Mieley's final masterpiece.

Such hard work, but Adalyn finished hers too.

Here's the carvin' bunch out at Adam's parents house. Adam was there too, but didn't carve a pumpkin this time because he was taking care of the girls. What a good husband!

Here's some of the finished pumpkins. Very cool.

This is the one I did. Yes, according to everyone else, I cheated because I used a stencil, but I think they were just jealous that they didn't think of it first. :)

Enjoy the Halloween music for now!

Suspicious Laundry Baskets

Well we're going into a hiding for a week.

A whole week off to go and play.

These are my suspicious laundry baskets I had this afternoon. The girls have been "helping" me pack and do laundry so that we can leave tomorrow for Utah. Adam's staying around until next weekend, but me and the girls are outta here. See ya in a week!

Time for Some Campaignin'

I debated about posting this, but decided to do it. It just makes me laugh. Sorry about the cuss word. Hope no one gets offended! My question is when are we gonna have an election where we have two good choices to choose from?

Last night. . .Again!

Someday she'll realize how much more comfortable a bed is. Atleast she's coming out of hiding a little bit.

Hey, she put someone in her place. That was thoughtful.

Later in the night. . .I wake up to Mieley crawling in our bed - No Way! Sorry, but there's no sleeping when that girl crawls in bed with you. So I finally nudge her away from me and towards Adam when she spotted a better sleeping option - our chair. I woke up probably an hour later and looked over to see if Mieley was still in the chair. She was. . . . .

Aahh, sweet dreams little one.
