The best part of cabin stays is that it's so nice to get away from everyday life and just hang out and talk, and usually though we never really plan anything specific to do - we have plenty of fun and it always goes too fast!
So here's a few of our activities we came up with:
Introducing, Icicle Wars:
Icicle Guitars:
How many licks does it take to get to the center of an icicle?
Had to throw in this picture cuz of Adam's crazy face in the back ground.
It was also SO WARM one day that we decided to hook up the sled to the snowmobile and take the kids sledding around on the lake. There were plenty of other snowmobilers on the lake so we decided to do the same.
After a test run, we hooked the kids up and off they went. However, Adam hit a soft spot and the sled started to sink and fill up with water! So . . . we changed our minds about riding on the lake.
Adam and Danielle and Todd decided to check out just how thin the ice was on the lake.
And then somewhere in the middle of it all, we decided to dig a hole. And the hole just ended up getting bigger and bigger.
Some of us got a little bored in watching the hole being dug:
But then the excitement began again with Kaden deciding that he was going to get into the ice bath.
I think his face says it all.
Not to be outdone by his little brother. . . Adam had to join in too.
And then it just became a hilarious contest on who could out do the other. I think they each got in atleast three times!
All in all it was great fun. Not saying it was 100% safe, but utterly hilarious!
Adam and Kaden enjoying their hot tub soak after the ice lake bath.
Jandy made some super cute pajamas with a numbers on their shirts corresponding to what order they were born in the family. 10 grandkids with one making his debut any day now!
Then we celebrated Adam's mom's bday at the cabin too. She wouldn't hardly let me take a picture of her. So here's her cake instead. Not nearly enough candles. :)
We had such a great time. Happy Cabin to all and to all a good night!

That is so funny. Both Ben and I are totally laughing.
I was hoping the cake would not make it on anyone's blog...it was not very pretty, but that is what I get for putting a six yr old in charge of watching it for two hours in the car! Fun pictures!
Oh my goodness! My jaw dropped when i saw your girls doing a snow run after the hotntub, so you can imagine how my face looked when inread about cracking snow and then saw grover boys ice dipping! Absolutely insane!! Glad you had fun... And very glad everyone survived. :)
